I have had the brilliant opportunity to team up with Pretty Little Thing, to bring you so fab ‘Race Day Looks’.
So let’s be honest here – when it comes to Ladies Day at the races few eyes are on the racecourse, competition in the champagne tent is immense and with thousands of euros worth of prizes at stake how do you stand out from the crowd? The perfect outfit takes lots of planning and prep but with Pretty Little Thing are on hand to help us achieve the perfect look. I have chosen two gorgeous outfits that are just faultless and incredibly affordable too.
Pretty Little Thing are a one stop shop not only for a beautiful outfit but shoes and accessories too, which you will see from my final looks. I have completed both outfits with unbelievable headpieces from a very talented milliner and friend Lori Muldoon Millinery. When styling your looks make sure your hat is eye catching, (for all the right reasons) and enhances your outfit but also it’s comfortable to wear. Which both of these pieces are!
So with a two wins and many top five best dressed looks under my belt here are a few tips to having the best ladies day look.
It’s great to embrace a current trends if it works for you but you should always let your body shape and colouring dictate your choice. There’s also no harm in mixing things up a bit if that’s your style. Trousers and separates are a great way to do this and appropriate for the unpredictable Irish weather also! We saw a little bit of cinched tailoring in 2018 which I loved and this year it seems to be sticking around. This is a super flattering style and a trend I definitely recommend trying out. Pretty Little thing have many other tailored suits so be sure to check them out here.
Going classic is always a winner just like this polka dot number – we all remember Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she wore a beautiful polka dot dress and boater hat to the polo. So when I saw this one on the Pretty Little Thing site I thought it would be spot on, (pardon the pun,) for a ladies day look. A really stylish, well cut, good fitting dress is always a classic and elegant look for Ladies day and this chocolate polka dot one shoulder ruffle detail pleated midi dress is just that!
There are no set ingredients to winning Ladies Day; my best advice would be embrace your own personal style, do not dress to impress the judges and their personal style, be happy in your skin, confident, comfortable and happy in what you wear; that really shines through. Don’t be afraid to add a bit of individual style and flair either.
Dressing for Ladies Day does not mean you need to wear expensive, designer looks and that’s what I wanted to showcase here with Pretty Little Thing. So there you have it ladies, 2 outfits head-to- toe, both very different from each other and both perfect for Ladies Day.
I Hope you enjoyed the post ladies and really hope it gave you some inspiration if you are heading to any races in the coming months.
