All Your Summer Essentials!

Happy Saturday Gals!

I hope you all have some lovely things plans for the weekend. I for one hope to head out over the weekend!

Today on the blog I am talking all about the summer essentials that will keep all those wardrobes up to date.

If you are anything like me, you too are always hyped to buy the latest and greatest trends. But a well-balanced wardrobe also includes a combination of timeless essentials that won’t go out of style. So this summer I am going to help you to make sure your closets are full with fashion staples that we can wear for years to come.

Once you’ve rounded up the basics, it’ll be easier than ever to get dressed and mix and match items. So have a read to make sure you have these key summer staples.

1.White T-shirt

The white T-shirt may not be the most exciting piece of clothing, but it is one of the most versatile especially this SS18. The simple summer style can partner with nearly everything and look great. So, whether you’re rocking a midi skirt, underneath a strappy dress or with your jeans, you can never go wrong with this staple piece.

2. The Perfect Wedges

When you want a dressier summer shoe, wedges and block heel sandals are practical and on trend, and neutrals are definitely way to go. What’s nice about these styles is they’re easy to walk in and offer more stability than a stiletto while still elongating your legs.

3. White Trainers

Keep your feet looking and feeling fresh this summer with a pair of white sneakers. The minimalistic shoe is a must-have style and it is perfect for both busy days and lazy weekends.

4. Tea Dress

Whether you’re heading out for the day, for evening drinks or to your favourite cafe for brunch, a tea dress makes an excellent outfit choice. The chic and simple style is perfect for keeping you feeling cool and looking effortlessly elegant both dressed up and down like I have shown.

5. Straw Hat

Protect your skin from the sun’s harsh rays while looking great this summer with the help of a straw hat. Perfect for the beach or a picnic, a straw hat can put a fashionable finishing touch on countless warm weather looks.

6. The Perfect Sunglasses

There’s no better way to finish off a stylish summer outfit than with some sleek shades. While there are plenty of styles to try, none will ever beat the ideal pair for your face shape. So, whether you rock a classic pair of aviators or look chic in a cat eye design, embrace your personal version of the perfect sunglasses with pride. I tend to wear many budget style glasses but the ones I am wearing in this shoot are from Prada at Brown Thomas.

7. Basket Bag

Basket bags have been “a thing” for the past while and has become a must-have accessory for designers, fashionistas, and celebs (just scroll down your Instagram feeds to see how many bloggers, Insta-celebrities have been spotted carrying a straw bag at Coachella and just everywhere!).

8. A Denim Jacket

I has become much a part of our closets as a checked blazer. But it can get a little, well, boring. It’s not that we don’t love this wardrobe staple it’s that we can run out of ways to make it feel fresh and interesting. During the colder months, we can also be tempted to throw it out which I have done when doing my wardrobe detox, regretting it later when it’s the summer and want it for every summer outfit. So make sure to keep them even if it gets a little rugged as that just ask character.

9. Swimsuit

Oh, yes, the dreaded swimming suit, having a well-fitting bathing suit is a must. I know not too many people enjoy shopping for swim wear but it must be done. If you are a little bustier, I would always recommend a suit with an underwire or built in bra. Vertical stripes are always very flattering and a pop of colour will always make you stand out while pool side!

Leopard Love

Happy hump day ladies,

So today I am talking all things leopard print.

Knowing how to wear animal print comes down to this one simple, unwritten rule: Treat it like any natural or black item in your wardrobe. Adding a little leopard to any outfit upgrades and complements a look. Whether that is an entire dress, jumpsuit, a shirt or just with your accessories.

Leopard print has often walked the line between flashy and luxurious, but it’s been proven time and again that us fashion girls can’t get enough of it!

Nowadays, it’s a classic for any closet. Across the whole of the fashion world, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn’t own at least one standout animal-print piece. In 2018, there are plenty of fashionable ways to enjoy it, thanks to brands such as Rixo and Ganni (which are both at the top of my favourite list at the moment) that keep it looking super chic (Here)(Here)

Here are some quick tips to keep you right when wearing Leopard.

  • You can definitely wear it with other prints—I especially love it with stripes.

  • Wearing a tiny bit if leopard print, e.g. with a bag/shoes is still a great way to bring out the rest of your outfit.

  • Leopard print looks incredible worn with more leopard print

  • Want a quick way to make your jeans look smart and up to date, simply add a cute pair of leopard-print loafers

  • Leopard print makes a classic white tee and blue jeans just sing.

For my look I chose this extra cute playsuit from River Island. I had my eye on it for a while and actually was going to wear it to one of the recent concerts. I think it’s a great little playsuit not only is it super comfy but you can dress it up or down and team it with a pair of nice white trainers. Unfortunately it is sold out online, however there are some available in-stores around the country.

To complete the look I kept it simple and teamed the playsuit with Penneys suede wedges and of course my all-time summer essential – a basket bag, this one is from Zara.

This year leopard print is not just a summer fling, but a long-term investment.

I hope you like this look and find some of the tips useful too!

Here are some of my favourite leopard print pieces on the high street at the moment.
