The future is female! Hot off the runway the power suit trend is quickly emerging this season. In a time of political unrest designers are strongly vocalizing their support for female power through their designs.
There are so many brands offering us amazing women’s pant suits that are ideal for work, special occasions, parties, formal events, etc. You are going to find here 1970’s inspired suits with high-waisted, wide-leg pants, statement blazers with broad shoulders and crispy white shirts/ silk blouses. You can always go bold and try on black tuxedos with nothing else underneath, which is very sexy look for a night on the town!
The power suit has re-emerged during an important cultural moment for women speaking up against sexual harassment and assault with the #MeToo and #TimesUp campaigns. These movements are not only impacting what is designed but how women choose to dress.
Be they sharp or slouchy, checks or block colours, well-tailored trousers teamed with coordinating jackets have flooded arrival carpets and after-parties alike. The power suit is feminine and fun way to dress.
With all this in mind I bring you this statement suit from Stradivarius layered up a simple white tee and platform trainers instead for a modern take on smart-casual suiting. Victoria Beckham is also a huge fan of this look at the moment.
If you follow me on Snapchat and Instagram you will also have seen that I dressed this suit up for a night out with barely there red sandals and a red body suit and looks every bit as smart. Two looks for the price of one! I hope you like this look as much as I enjoyed wearing it!
