Did you all have a good weekend? I can’t believe it’s Thursday already!
As you may have already noticed I went to the Duty free Irish Derby at the Curragh last Saturday and what a day it was!!
It was an early start for me as I had booked in to get the full works done, hair and make-up! Peter Marks did a cute ponytail for me while Inglot created a classic day time look.
The weather was quite overcast but I didn’t mind as the rain managed to hold off! It was such a brilliant day, definitely one of my favourite race days. The atmosphere was just electric, with bands playing, amazing smells of yummy BBQ food and there were crowds of people. My sister and I backed a few winners, had a few drinks and bumped into some familiar faces.
I shared a some pics from the day on my Instagram account(here) so you may have already had a glimpse of my outfit.
What made my day even better was when the lovely Bairbre Power came up to me in the crowd and asked me if I would like to be a finalist! With a huge grin on my face, I quickly replied that I would be absolutely thrilled! I was so excited but also in complete shock, I just couldn’t believe my luck especially as the style on the day was immense!
I choose this jumpsuit from Ted Baker(here) for the Derby as I knew the weather wasn’t on my side, I thought it would be more weather appropriate. It was so comfy to wear too. I teamed this with a fabulous cream and black headpiece from MillinerybyMairead(here) and I am sure you would agree it worked perfectly. I decided to match the jumpsuit with a stripe cream and black shoe and matching clutch bag from Dune(here) and (here) and I think it all just worked impeccably well. I know I will definitely get wear out of all these pieces again too.
After the photographers were finished taking our photos we were all given an amazing goodie bag, which consisted of a facial in the Marker Hotel, a bottle of Champagne and afternoon tea for two in Laduree Dublin. A huge thanks to the Derby for such great goodies!
What a way to end an incredible day!
Hope you liked my outfit as much as I did.
