I’m sitting writing this after doing my tan, I’ve just tried out the ultra-dark Bellamiante, fingers crossed I’m not tangoed tomorrow lol!!
I’m not only doing my tan because it’s my mid week ritual but because I’m going to an event in Dublin tomorrow night and the theme is ‘dress to impress’ so I thought I better put some effort in!
Anyway on to the task in hand – I’m talking all things stripes, in particular denim and stripes.
So as some of you may already know stripes has always had a very big presence on the runways of every Fashion Week. Vertical, horizontal, diagonal, pinstripe, dashed; all different versions of stripes showed up on the runways again this year, crossing trends and establishing stripes as a major spring/ summer 2018 print trend alone.
And it seems like with me at the moment if I’m not wearing spots, then I’m wearing stripes!
So to break the trend in slowly to you I thought the easiest way would be through denim. Sure who doesn’t love to wear jeans! It’s safe to say denim is a fabric that suits everyone. Genderless and versatile, denim is probably the easiest addition to a day time wardrobe but just because it traditional and safe doesn’t mean you can’t be daring with it. Forget the plain reliable skinny jean and seek out some jeans with a difference. Its 2018 time to be playful!
Denim fashion right now is full of references to the 1990s, when embellished denim was a thing, embroidery, stripes and stars etc.
These Topshop jeans (Here) that I have chosen are super cute with the mustard stripe but they also come in black with a red stripe if you aren’t so keen on the mustard.
I teamed my jeans with a pretty matching top (Here) and finished it off with my ever so reliable black basket bag (Here) black mules which are from Littlewoods last year and some statement earrings from Mango (Here)
It’s a super comfy day time outfit!
Anyway must dash, I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week,
Rebecca Rose Xx
